Dear Sabre Hockey Families,
The words Dedication, Pride and Commitment are displayed prominently on our website’s homepage. This does not only refer to our philosophy regarding how we coach, develop and nurture our players, but in all that we do for our Sabre Families. Throughout the season Sabre Hockey hosts several family and adult oriented events. The “Welcome Back” BBQ in August kicks off our 2012-2013 season and the Sabre Awards Ceremony in April puts the finishing touch on the season by celebrating our teams’ accomplishments. Sabre Hockey’s annual Face-Off Dinner/Auction in October gives our parents the opportunity to mingle outside the hockey rink while enjoying dinner, drinks and dancing at the elegant Abbington in Glen Ellyn.
In addition to fostering a sense of family at Sabre Hockey through our many events, we firmly believe in giving back to our communities through our participation in Soles4Soul’s shoe drive, Hesed House’s towel drive, the Humanitarian Service Project’s Feed the Children program, and collecting pop tabs for Ronald McDonald Charities to name just a few.
As the largest non-profit youth hockey organization in Illinois, you can imagine it takes A LOT of volunteers to run these various events, ceremonies and charitable projects. Your dedication and commitment makes the Sabre Hockey Association the best youth hockey organization in Illinois!
We'd love to have you join our growing list of volunteers. Contact Gretchen Cockey at gcockey@sabrehockey.com for more information on how YOU can become involved.
Sincerely,
Gretchen Cockey
Vice President of Operations
